Years ago I named my hand sewing venture The Muslin Garden, because everything I make is a reworked or new design and requires making at least one test version. In sewing, this first crack at something is called a muslin (you usually make it from inexpensive muslin fabric). Once you figure out all the quirks and your pattern is working well, only then do you apply your design to the final fabric. This was no exception… literally a doll muslin.
